WINDIES WOMEN INTO SEMIS DESPITE LOSS

The West Indies women managed to sneak into the semi finals of the ongoing Women’s T-20 world cup, despite losing to Ireland, in their final preliminary game. West Indies batting first got to 128 for 7 in their 20 overs and Ireland women held their nerves to overhaul the target in 18.1 overs-129 for 4 However, with England defeating New Zealand, the West indies received some breathing space and edged out Sri Lanka on net run rate for the second semi final spot from the group. West Indies will now face off with the mighty Australia team on Tuesday 30th June, in semifinal one England and South Africa will decide the other finalist on Thursday 2 nd July.
