WI CRICKETER SHAQKERE PARRIS ARRESTED IN ANTIGUA

Barbadian cricketer Shaqkere Parris has been granted bail after being charged with battery in St. John’s, Antigua. It is understood that Parris, who represents the West Indies “A” team, is currently in Antigua with the West Indies Academy squad following its recent tour of Sri Lanka. to the Antigua Observer, Parris allegedly assaulted a taxi driver at the team’s hotel, after the driver refused to allow him into his vehicle following a verbal altercation. The top order batsman is said to have pushed and punched the driver after the taxi operator removed his luggage from the vehicle. He is scheduled to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on the misdemeanor charge today and is expected to be fined if convicted.
