PRIMARY SCHOOLS CRICKET SEMIFINALS SET FOR TODAY
The final preliminary round in the 2026 Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket championship, was played on Tuesday 7 th July, at the ET Willet Park. In the game played, the Charlestown Primary School dominated the St. James’ primary school. The CPS team won the toss and insisted on batting first.
Interestingly, star player, Zakeem Bailey did not open the innings, but Jones and Newton did a terrific job, taking the team to 100 for no loss, before Newton retired. Enter Zakeem Bailey. The local ‘baby boss’ proceeded to slam 64 not out from just 19 balls, to take his team to a record breaking 190 for no loss: Zakeem Bailey 64*, Delijah Jones 60*, Newton 33 retired hurt.
However, Bailey could have been out for a first ball duck, when Ariella Phillip dropped a bowled and caught chance that he presented. St. James’ in return could only muster 60 for 5 in their 15 overs. Bryant got 20 not out and there were 26 extras.

SJPS 6 matches 0 wins 6 losses 0 points This now sets up the very exciting semi final encounters scheduled for the ET Wi8llet Park later today-Thursday 9 th July The first match begins at 1:15 p.m. between the Charlestown Primary School and defending champions, the Ivor Walters Primary School This game will be followed by the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary versus Joycelyn Liburd Primary School at 3:30 p.m. Both games promise to produce some real excitement and the general public is cordially invited out in their numbers.
