NETBALL CAMP UNDERWAY

A three-week Netball camp for young girls commenced at the Grell Hull-Stevens complex, on Monday 13 th July. According to Sports officer Ms. Sharlene Martin, the girls will be trained in the basic skills of Netball such as passing, shooting etc. Among the persons who will be responsible for the training of the girls are former West Indies captain, Lydia Thompson-Claxton and former Nevis’s ace goal shoot, Rhonda Thompson, along with officers from the Sports Department. Also addressing the gathering, was Manager at the Nevis branch of the St. Kitts-Nevis and Anguilla National Bank, Ms. Keesha Jones. She encouraged the girls to learn as much as they can during the camp and aspire to reach similar heights to Mrs. Thompson-Claxton. She also delivered water bottles to each of the girls, complements of her institution. Immediately after the brief ceremony, the girls were taken to the court for their initial drills.
