SECURITY FORCES UNITED CROWNED 2025/2026 SKNFA U13 BOYS LEAGUECHAMPIONS

Basseterre, St. Kitts: St. Kitts Credit Union (SKCU) Security Forces United have been

crowned the 2025/2026 SKNFA U13 Boys League Champions, following an outstanding season

that saw them secure the title ahead of the final match day.

The team was officially presented with their championship trophy on Saturday, April 25 at the

Atiba Erasto Harris Sports Complex in St. Peters, after their final match against Cayon Rockets.

Despite suffering a 3-0 defeat in that encounter—resulting in Cayon securing second place—

Security Forces United had already clinched the title, entering the final round with an

unassailable 61 points, eight ahead of their nearest rivals.

Head Coach Damien John acknowledged his team’s performance in the final match, noting early

nerves before improvement in the second half, while celebrating their overall achievement.

“We were a bit nervous in the first half but second half we went back out and played better.

Cayon came out fighting to win so they did well; they won,” he said.

“The guys give it their all throughout the entire season, not just here on the pitch but on the

training ground. They came out day after day and they work towards the goal. Looking ahead, he

said the team will keep most of their players, while also introducing new training techniques.

“About 50 percent of the team will still remain but we just don't stop there. We're looking at

exposure; we're looking to go way beyond not just locally but internationally. Our plan is to keep

training and be more modernized with different systems and whatever it takes, we just got to do

it,” John said.

From the opposing side, Cayon player Vakiem Archibald said his team entered the match

determined to secure second place.

“I wanted revenge on them because they beat me in my hometown 4-2. So I wanted to win and

we came out and we did everything,” he said. “My team worked hard, went to training and did

everything and they came out, they played to their potential and I feel proud of them.”

Looking ahead, Archibald notes that the team wants to keep most of the players for next season.

“Well, we want to keep the players together and keep a small tournament between each other,

keep it competitive and keep them going,” he said. “We had a good season. I think we could

have won the cup but we dropped short and feel good that we beat the winners in the end.”

Individual Awards:

• Golden Boot: K’jay Martin (Conaree)

• Best Goalkeeper: Jovaughne Leader (St. Paul’s)

• MVP: Malje Marsham (Security Forces United)

Earlier in the day, S L Horsfords St. Paul’s U13 team went down 3-2 to Development Bank St.

Peters. St. Peters players Azaan Liburd and K’Ymarie Maynard reflected on their performance

and season: “The game was positive. We missed a lot of chances but we could have scored more.

It was very fantastic,” Maynard said.

“We didn't score the goals but it was really positive for the last game of the season. It was a good

season. We lost a game that we could have won,” Liburd said.

Meanwhile, St. Paul’s player Jovante Freeman commended his team’s overall effort while noting

areas for improvement. “They played good but a couple of mistakes. I'm going to cut it out when

I go back to training,” Freeman said.

This latest triumph adds to Security Forces United’s growing success, following their title win in

last summer’s SKNFA U13 Football Festival.
