OLD ROAD UNITED JETS WIN SKNFA PREMIER LEAGUE
Basseterre, St. Kitts: MFCR Old Road United Jets have etched their names into the history books after capturing the 2025/2026 National Bank Group/SKNFA Premier League title and completing
the season unbeaten, becoming the first club in the Premier League era to achieve the feat in St. Kitts
and Nevis football. Old Road sealed the championship on Sunday, May 17, at the National Bank Group Technical Center with a commanding 4-2 victory over Development Bank St. Peters FC. The club’s talisman and league MVP delivered another standout performance in the season’s biggest match, scoring a hat-trick in the 24th, 41st, and 61st minutes. The forward also finished the season as the league’s top goal scorer and Final Four Playoffs MVP. Jardel Isaac added Old Road’s go-ahead goal in the 29th minute after Aiden Nurse equalized for St. Peters three minutes following Old Road’s opener. Lyjani Isaac scored a consolation goal for St. Peters deep into stoppage time. Following the final whistle, players, fans, club officials, and supporters celebrated jubilantly as the team lifted the championship trophy, marking the culmination of a historic campaign. Reflecting on the season, Tiquanny Williams
described the achievement as a special moment for the entire club. “To be honest, I wouldn't say I expected the season to be like this. But the golden boot (award), I knew that was mine. But as I said, it was a great season, undefeated, history. So, of course, I wouldn't say I expected it. I just want to party with my teammates. Big moment for everybody,” he said. Head Coach Alexis Morris also reflected on the club’s remarkable transformation from battling relegation in previous years to becoming unbeaten
champions. “I remember coaching against this team...it’s always on the back end of things, 6-7-8-nil. And when I finished (coaching Conaree) and I decided to take a break from football, some young men from Old Road contacted me and said, coach man, you can't end like this. You have more to offer. Can you give us some time?” he reminisced. “I had to think long and hard about it. And then, of course, I answered the clarion call and ended up with OR. And like I did with Conaree, I just needed at least four years with these guys.” Morris, who guided Conaree to their only league title 13 years ago, compared that success to the work accomplished at Old Road, leading the club to its first Premier League championship. “As long as this team stays together, there will be more victories and more history to be made,” he added. “We’re going to get bigger.” The championship triumph caps off a remarkable season for Old Road, who not only secured their first Premier League crown but also lifted their second
FA Cup title, completing an extraordinary domestic campaign. The conclusion of the 2025/2026 Premier League season also marks the end of the domestic football calendar in St. Kitts and Nevis for this season as clubs now begin preparations for the upcoming season.
