MINISTER HANLEY LEADS TOUR OF MODERNIZED ST. KITTS EDUCATION SITES
The tour was led by Minister of Education, Geoffrey Hanley, and included Permanent Secretary Lisa Pistana.
The visit aimed to give education leaders firsthand insight into infrastructure upgrades and initiatives designed to improve teaching and learning environments. Among the key stops was the Christopher-Wilkin Institute of Technology, where major equipment upgrades are currently underway. New additions include a virtual welding simulator, allowing students to practice welding in a digital environment, as well as a smart board and smart projector to support remote learning and collaboration with other technical schools in Nevis. The delegation also toured the construction site of the Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School, where work is said to be progressing steadily. The new facility is expected to provide a modern, safe, and supportive environment for students, as part of broader efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure. Throughout the visit, Heads of Departments engaged with project managers and stakeholders, discussing timelines, challenges, and expected outcomes of the various initiatives.
