FINALS INTRIGUINGLY POSITIONED

After two days of the grand regional finals between Guyana Harpy eagles and the Trinbago Red Force teams, the match is intriguingly positioned. Day two saw an intense fight for first innings honours, with the Guyanese team falling just 15 runs short. Trinbago Re Force made 260 and Guyana got to 245. Keemo Paul top scored with 51 and the youthful Jonathan Van Lange got 46 Jayden Seales bagged 4 for 55 and Terrence Hinds 3 for 46

‍ ‍ BOYS OVERCOME OBSTACLES

In observance of the international day of the boys, which was slated for Saturday 16 th May, The Ivor Walters Primary school, under the guidance of Counselor Shevonne Lowe and her team, held a very innovative session, featuring the boys at the school. On Friday 15 th May, the teachers and the boys of the school, gathered at the Fit Wellness Park, to feature in a series of events, which served to motivate the boys to overcome challenges. It was dubbed: “Rise-Reach-Respond-Obstacle challenge- Empowering boys to overcome life’s challenges.’ Ms. Lowe indicated that she and her team decided that instead of having the usual motivational speaker for the event, they decided to do something different this year. The boys and their fathers and/or father figures engaged in a series of competitive and exciting events, culminating with an exciting tug of war. Special thanks were given to God Almighty, David Walwyn and his Fit Park team, Curtis Morton Sr , Mem's Pizzeria, Boddies Restaurant, Kenneth Powell, DJ Dendee, International Day of Boy Child Committee, The Department of Education for the use of school buses for transportation and the Principal and Staff of IWPS. Everyone indicated that it was an afternoon well spent and there are calls that it should be made an annual event.
